Half Staff Flag Alert | Pennsylvania | October 3, 2022 - Internment

Overnight on September 30th, Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Max Baer passed away. He has faithfully served Pennsylvania for decades. According to the Inquirer, Justice Baer was “hailed as a longtime advocate for children and families.”

Baer began his service as deputy attorney general from 1975-1980. According to the Inquirer, “Baer was elected to the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County in 1989 and was appointed administrative judge of its Family Division in 1993. Ten years later he was elected to the state Supreme Court, where he served as chief justice just since 2021.”

Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, has ordered flags across the state to be flown at half staff immediately through sunset on the day of Max Baer’s internment. This date has yet to be announced. All are invited to honor the late Chief Justice and fly their flag at half staff.
